The Shadow King: Richard teases Hap

In another version of the film, before it was decided that Hap and Richard should be orphans, they were to be new residents to the building, whose parents, a Puerto Rican couple, run a laundromat. Hap and Richard have run afoul of the building manager, and as a result have to do odd jobs about the place.

In this scene Hap and Richard have just met Ms. Fern, the buildings' mysterious and foul-tempered Grande Dame, who seems to know things she shouldn't about the brothers. Her appearance is so scary, that Hap fled the scene in terror. We catch up with him in the boys bedroom, where Richard leafs through old Famous Monster of Filmland magazines to find a monster comparable to Ms. Fern.
